Are you a trained school librarian and want to make a real difference? We are now looking for you who find joy in inspiring reading and who want to create curiosity, engagement, and a desire to learn. You are warmly welcome to apply for the position of school librarian at Stenstalidskolan! Our current school librarian is moving on to another position, which is why we are now looking for you.
About Stenstalidskolan and Kristinehamn
Stenstalidskolan is one of our three F-9 schools that, together with Strandskolan (F-3) and Ölmeskolan (F-6), form the northern school area. Adapted primary school subjects are also offered here. Here, each stage has its naturally defined area with space for play, creativity, and proximity to forest and nature. At our school, you will meet dedicated and knowledgeable teachers who work together for the students' right to a good education.
The position is located at Stenstalidskolan, but you will also perform duties at Strandskolan and Ölmeskolan.
Kristinehamn is a city that combines the best of two worlds – the calm and community of a small town with good opportunities for work and development. Here, commuting time is reduced, the pace becomes more balanced, and everyday life is easier to manage. With Vänern just around the corner, a beautiful and accessible archipelago environment awaits, and we have a rich cultural and leisure life for both children and adults, making it easy to live an active life.
Benefits in this position include, among other things, a wellness allowance and access to our dedicated staff club, which creates community and energy throughout the year.

An important part of the assignment is to support both students and teachers in information seeking and source criticism. You collaborate closely with school leadership and educators to integrate the school library into teaching and contribute to student learning. Furthermore, you organize reading-promoting initiatives such as book clubs, author visits, and reading competitions that inspire increased reading joy and engagement.
Qualifications and Merits

Furthermore, you have good knowledge of literature and information seeking, GDPR, and privacy when handling user data. - Knowledge of children's and young adult literature.
- Competence in digital tools and source criticism.
- Understanding of the school curriculum and how libraries can support student learning.
- A B-class driver's license, as travel to other schools within the school area is included.
As a person, you have a good ability to build relationships with students and colleagues. You also have good pedagogical skills and an understanding of students' different prerequisites for learning. With your creativity and initiative, you create an inspiring library operation.
You are familiar with different reading strategies and methods to inspire a love for reading in our students, and you have a flexible approach. Collaboration is important to you, and you contribute to a positive work climate where everyone feels involved. Furthermore, you are meticulous and have a structure that facilitates your work.
